The world-famous Opinel knives date back to 1890, when Joseph Opinel created his first folding knife to order. Ten years later he opened his own factory for the production of quality knives, and a year later he received the highest award at the world exhibition “Alpine”. By September 1939, about 20 million knives had been sold around the globe.

Opinel No. 8 VRI knife is a classic tool produced by the French company of the same name, which was created by Joseph Opinel himself back in 1890. The number eight in the name denotes the size of the tool. Knives of series 6 through 12 are the main ones in the model line of Opinel company. The blade of this knife Opinel 8 VRI is made of high-quality steel Sandvik 12C27 Swedish production, the hardness of which is about 58 units on the Rockwell scale. The blade is 85 millimeters long with a total length of 190 millimeters. The handle is made of a piece of beech wood, qualitatively processed and perfectly impregnated.
