Description

All Opinel knives can be divided into two large groups. The first group with numbers in the name from 2 to 5 includes tools for fine work and trinkets, the second group with numbers from 6 to 10 and 12 includes standard knives, which can be used not only in various everyday tasks, but also during fishing, hunting or outings. Until 1939, knives with numbers 1 and 11 were also produced, but were subsequently discontinued.

The Opinel №9 VRI knife has a blade made of Swedish-made stainless steel, which keeps its factory sharpening perfectly and has a high degree of hardness. The length of the blade of this tool is 90 millimeters with a total length of 205 mm. The owner's fingers are protected from accidental folding of the blade during work by a lock called Virobloc, which was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It looks like a rotating socket with a slit. To open or close the blade, it must be aligned with this slit, and then the socket must be turned to prevent the knife from closing.
