All Opinel knives can be divided into two large groups. The first group with numbers from 2 to 5 includes tools for delicate work and trinkets, while the second group with numbers from 6 to 10 and 12 includes classic knives used both in various household tasks and actively used in hiking, hunting or fishing. Until 1939, knives with numbers 1 and 11 were also produced, but were subsequently discontinued.

The Opinel №9 VRN knife has a blade made of Swedish steel with high carbon content, which perfectly holds the factory sharpening and has a hardness of 56-57 units on the Rockwell scale. The owner should take into account that steel with high carbon content is quite fragile and requires constant care, as it is prone to corrosion, so our experts recommend wiping the blade after each use and lubricating it with oil as often as possible. This tool will come in handy not only when solving everyday tasks in domestic conditions, but also during a picnic or fishing.
